Cat Translator("the App", "we") is built and maintained by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy describes what data the App collects, why, and how it's handled.

What the App does not do

The App does not require an account, does not have a login, and does not collect your name, email address, or contact information. It is a playful entertainment app — it does not build a profile of you or sell your data.

How recordings work

To produce a translation, the App needs to hear your cat, so it records a short audio clip using your iPhone's microphone when you tap record. That clip is used to generate the playful translation and, if you choose to keep it, is saved to the cat profile on your device. Recordings are captured for the purpose of translation, not to identify you.

Data not linked to your identity

Apple's App Privacy label on the App Store listing is the authoritative summary of what the App collects, and this policy is kept consistent with it. Any data the App collects falls into the following categories and is not linked to your identity:

• Purchases — if you subscribe or request a refund, Apple shares limited purchase activity with us (such as anonymous account identifiers and purchase amounts) so we can manage subscriptions through the App Store.
• Usage data— aggregate, anonymised information about how the App is used, via Apple's built-in App Store analytics.
• Diagnostics — crash logs and performance data, used only to fix bugs and improve stability.

Microphone permission

iOS asks for your permission before the App can use the microphone, because that is what it needs to hear and translate your cat. You can review or change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. If you do not grant it, the App cannot record a sound to translate.

Entertainment only

Cat Translator is an independent app made for fun and curiosity. Its “translations” are playful interpretations, not veterinary, medical, or behavioural advice. Apple, iPhone, iPad, and iOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Children's privacy

The App collects no personal information from any user regardless of age, per the data practices described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version at this same URL.
